To be Special is not Special, To be Ordinary is Special

I am not a trained Dancer . I am an ordinary dancer. But yeah i can crank the music way up and erupt into an impromptu dance session in any juncture. For me, Dancing is healing modality, when I dance I feel so alive. And it is something, I can enjoy at any point in my life, no matter what my ability is. My camaraderie with dancing began at a very tender age. Back then, I didn’t even know how to emote but assuredly it was an untold emotion for me and still it is. I can recollect those twinkles in my eyes whenever I used to turn on a random song and dance around a bit. Even now I hear music, any song with any beat and I can’t help but move. And I know many out there have this sort of identical feeling but may feel introverted to dance because they might have not taken any formal classes.  Don’t worry. You don’t need to dance to impress others, Dance for the reason that You want to dance. Dance like nobody’s watching. Dance to breathe, to tear down the walls, to open the  retired closets,

JUST DON’T BE FASHIONABLE,BE FOREVER STYLISH .

Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval.Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her. - Lao Tzu                       These famous lines constantly encourage me to wear my personality on my sleeve. I always favour Style over Fashion. Fashion is what is being offered and worn by most at any particular moment in time. Fashion is temporary; it is over quickly, whereas style is forever. You own style and You Owe Fashion. You can even cultivate your own unique style by understanding your body type, adding or subtracting a few stuffs in your wardrobe, experimenting with it but off course after being educated, welcoming suggestions from others and many more. Accept the fact that we are not super models. We can have thin, fat , chubby, skinny, short ,tall body statures. We all have some perfect imperfections, but, Yes there is one accessory that can be never go out of fashion,

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. But not only man, even the way to a woman’s heart or a child’s heart is through his/her stomach only. Humorous but true. You can make anyone loves you by cooking them good meals.Yes, that’s the power of cooking.  Cooking is not a profession but surely a passion for me.I might not work in a professional kitchen but i love cooking up a storm for my friends and family. I think, even you may agree that cooking is a great illustration of melting pot between art and science. Indeed, cooking is both art and science.  How? Like, my experiment with cooking can go miserably wrong, If I don’t apply scientific method. When I say scientific method, it doesn’t mean I need professional apparatus or tools to measure quantity or ingredients or need to do some sort of chemical reaction in lab. But yes, I must know why certain ingredients impart certain flavours or create certain reactions, and then recreating those experiments by testing them or mixing the

Champa Gali : Delhi’s Best Kept Secret

Image
One of my friends, a travel enthusiast, once suggested me to visit this hidden treasure of culture and culinary delight “Champa Gali”, so, keeping his words in mind, on one fine winter afternoon ; I decided to meet an another school friend of mine at this Delhi’s less travelled , less explored and less talked corridor or gali of culture , coffee and confession.  This girl whom I was going to meet almost after 3 years , we spent preliminary years of school together only but her family got shifted to Hyderabad and see how the wheels of fortune spun and she had to move back to Delhi after marriage. Therefore we couldn’t  conceivably give up on this reunion; it had to be the best .  Champa Gali is barely half a km from Saket metro station , and so, we also decided to skip driving and take on a metro ride. It wouldn’t be amplification if I address Metro, as Delhi’s intrinsic part or lifeline. If you are in Delhi , you can’t miss metro rides. Finally we were inside the quirky lanes of Champa

Childhood Memories of Jorhat, Assam

Image
Assam - The land of red rivers and blue hills  I was born in Delhi but being a defence kid ,I would have to be  on the move all the time .  My father got transferred in Jorhat Assam and I had started my schooling from Assam Jorhat . I was around 5-6 years old when I joined Kendriya Vidhyala Jorhat Assam . We were staying in a defence accommodation which was very close to my school, like I could go on foot. In those days , we had no fancies but we had fun . For instance , even watching a movie was a point of celebration. Families would go together chomp on those not too expensive  potato chips and  cup of ice- cream and enjoy cinema without being distracted by mobile phones. Today everyone seems to be more individualistic , love to live in their own cocoons , hence we fail to collect nostalgic experiences as we used to do. I remember back in the day we used to wait for load shedding (yuppie light chali gae ) as it was the ultimate escape  for us from everything. We could play board game

Once Upon A Time

Image
She dwelt among the untrodden ways  Beside the springs of Dove; A maid whom there were none to praise  And very few to love. A violet by a mossy stone  Half- hidden from the eye! - Fair as a star , when only one  Is shining in the sky. She lived unknown , and few could know  When Lucy ceased to be ; But she is in her grave , and, oh,  The difference to me. William Wordsworth
